Sunlight Air unveils new aircraft; to fly to Siquior
Sunlight Air Chief Executive Officer Ryna Brito-Garcia poured champagne on the new aircraft as part of the launch of the airline’s fourth plane at the Clark International Airport. The new turboprop plane, the ATR 72-600, is more modern than the current fleet of the airline and is known for its efficiency and sustainability.
It has a capacity for 72 seats, but Brito-Garcia said they only placed 68 seats to give more comfort to passengers. The new aircraft will be used on various routes, including Clark-Siargao, Siargao-Cebu, Cebu-Busuanga, and Busuanga-Clark.
Sunlight Air eyes international flights by 2027
Domestic boutique carrier Sunlight Air plans to mount international flights as early as 2027, as it targets to be the go-to airline for local and foreign tourists visiting the country’s most popular island getaways.
Sunlight Air Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ryna Brito-Garcia said the airline is positioning itself to be a major tourism driver, and that means expanding its passenger base beyond domestic flyers.

The turboprop aircraft landed at Clark International Airport on Oct. 3, 2025, and began commercial operations on Oct. 26. It joins the airline’s three ATR 72-500s, enhancing capacity and fuel efficiency for short regional routes.
